If Your Dice Are Living in Black Boxes, You Clearly Need Some New Sets

Image
Let’s get real for a second. We love our dice. We hoard them. We cradle them before big rolls. We give them stern pep talks before initiative. But if your dice are still living in cardboard boxes that came with some dusty starter set six years ago, I’ve got some news for you, friend—it's time for a glow-up. Your dice deserve better. They’ve seen you through boss fights, critical fails, epic wins, and questionable decisions involving potions from suspicious vendors. Isn’t it about time they got the upgrade they deserve? If your dice are still living in cardboard boxes, you might be doing them—and your whole table—a serious disservice. Look, we’ve all been there. You bought that first set just to see if D&D or Pathfinder or whatever flavor of RPG you enjoy was going to stick. And now, years later, you’re running games for three different groups, tracking 40 NPC relationships, and still rolling your trusty but chipped d20 that squeaks when it lands on the table. You Deserve ...

Godzilla vs. Weird RPG Dice!

Image
I still remember the day I stumbled across a compact disc at a record store— an album called Godzilla Thicc . The cover was a wild, 1980s- inspired blast of neon colors, featuring the famous movie monster trampling a city in retro pixel- art style. I was immediately hooked by the absurdity of it all. What time-warped Beat poet  makes an   album called Godzilla Thicc ? Curiosity won, and I bought it. Turns out, it was a concept album by a well- known rap artist, blending storytelling with beats in a way I never expected. That moment of discovery— when something strange, unique, and deeply expressive catches you off guard— is exactly the thrill I chase with weird and unique dice sets. For RPG dice collectors, finding that kind of emotional spark is no different. We’re surrounded by mass- produced designs that all blur together, but when you get your hands on dice that look like nothing else out there— dice that carry a story, a vibe, a personality— you experience something mor...

Dice Everywhere? Time to Tame the Chaos

Image
Let’s be honest: you didn’t mean to become a dice goblin. One minute you were just picking up a backup set for your rogue. The next? You're ankle- deep in mystery dice, dnd dice you don’t remember ordering, and a dog chewing on a glittery d20 you swear was retired. And n ow you’ve got a problem. Don't get me wrong... it's a good problem to have! But  if your dice sets are living rent- free in every drawer, bag, and cupholder you own, it’s time to do something brave: organize them. Because I'm definitely not suggesting you   get rid of any of your  dice ( blasphemy). I'm talking   about giving your collection the respect it deserves— and maybe making it easier to find that one set you swear rolls better. STEP 1: SORT BY PURPOSE, PERSONALITY, OR PURE VIBE Start by laying out all your dice. Yes, even that one set you found under your couch. Mystery dice , unique dnd dice , misfits, and memory- makers alike. Then choose your sorting strategy: By Character/ Class – Ke...

Dice War! Shiny Math Rock Battle of the Bands: Plastic Power vs. Metal Monster

Image
Prepare to melt some faces, dice dragons—it's time to MATH ROCK! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 There are two kinds of adventurers in this world: the ones who want their RPG dice to glide across the table like a whisper, and the ones who want their rolls to land like a warhammer through drywall. Humor me here. Choosing between plastic dice and metal dice is kind of like picking between a corgi and a pit bull—both have their quirks, their licks, as I know too well, their love bites. But one's all about charm and lighthearted fun, while the other is built for protection and power (not to mention power hugs). And if you’ve been around the table long enough, you already know your d&d dice set isn’t just a tool. It’s a mood-setter. A ritual object. A physical echo of your gaming soul. So let the dice war begin: plastic vs. metal dice —the RPG dice rock rumble your chaotic heart has been waiting for! Plastic Dice: The Agile All-Stars for RPGs Pros: Lightweight & Porta...
